Here are some pictures of my family, me, and various guests and people important to Chris Fabry Live! Pictures are valuable. Someone said a picture is worth a thousand words, but with inflation and the onset of digital photography and storage, we've upped that to 243,865. It's our stimulus plan for the website. 9. You’ve heard the, “I married up,” phrase? I am the poster child for those words.
10. Here we all are near Tucson, standing in the cactus. I don’t know the name of that mountain, but a few miles south of it is Mexico.
11. From left to right, Brandon, Kaitlyn, and Colin. When we first moved to Arizona they were terrified of snakes and spiders. They are holding lizards in their hands in this picture, fresh from a lizard hunt. Colin is wearing his special cowboy hat he covered with Duck Tape. Kids, you know?
12. This is Ryan’s birthday, November 29, 2008. We ate at Olive Garden. Two months into our homelessness and we managed to smile.
13. Our youngest son Brandon’s 7th birthday, June 16, 2008. Andrea took him to Rosie’s Diner where his big sister Erin works and he had a milkshake. Not a bad deal, if you ask me.
14. Before Chris Fabry Live! began, Tricia Boyle (she wasn’t McMillan then) came to our home, along with Joel Swan, and set up my studio. This is Tricia with Kaitlyn with the Front Range of the Rockies in the background. (As I recall, Tricia spent a lot of time on her cell phone talking with someone. Hmm. I wonder who it was?)
15. A good friend from our church shot this picture of me in my old office in front of some beloved books. I had two shelves filled with writing books. I miss them almost as much as Pippen and Frodo.
16. Pippen, our beloved Bichon-Frise, waiting for us at the bottom of the stairs. He was faithful to the end.
17. Pippen again, old, blind Pippen. You can just see the edge of Frodo’s ear in this picture.
18. This is Mrs. Mann’s first grade class, Culloden WV, circa 1967, I think. Lots of stories in this picture. One day I will tell all.
19. This is the farm where I grew up, the setting for Will’s house in Dogwood. There are two fish ponds near the house, a hill with cow paths that have grown over, a barn that fell, and again, lots of stories.
20. “I JUST SWALLOWED A JUNE BUG!” (Congratulations to contest winner Len from Sugar Grove, IL, for providing the perfect caption!)
21. Andrea, at the beach, during the weekend of the funeral for her mom. It was a bittersweet reunion with family and friends and saying goodbye. I love this picture.
